I joined the American Club wine membership and have received two orders in less than a month.
The first order was sub-par, as so many others will tell you. When I wrote to cancel the account, I was charged for another shipment, a mere two weeks after my first shipment was billed. The cost, of course, was higher than the introduction shipment cost.
I am a member of wine.woot and other such places that actually present quality wines at discount. These wines are overpriced, undervalued and the practice in which I was charged so quickly after they received my cancellation is deplorable.
I will have to "suck it up" for another shipment, but buyer beware. Caveat emptor, but don't get sucked in. It's simply not worth the palate and the miles, and certainly not worth the money.
I will admit though that their customer service people did handle my agitation and request to cancel and verified it with aplomb. Of course I didn't ask for my money back, so that may be why.
Still: Stay away, this is not a company that is honorable.
