This morning as usual I went online to look at my TD Banknorth account. I saw a $159.00 from VIP/CB as a pending transdaction posted today. I had no idea ehat this was. I immediately called TD Banknorth and they thought it may be VIP Automotive. I haven't had any work done there nor have I written a check or debited any money to be allocated to them. The customer service rep. went to a supervisor and gave me the # listed for the VIP/CB 1-866-883-4980. I called the number and asked what the heck this is for. The guy on the other line said I had agreed to a card. I told him this was untrue and asked what this is and where is the supposed application he claims I filed online he gave me a site to go to for more info. I kept him online and went to the site he gave me here http://cardsupport.automotivecenter.com/.
I was so confused! I said that I did not apply for this and I want my money refunded immediately. He said I would have to file a police report and that I will not get my money back because I agreed to their terms and conditions. What?! I asked him where he is located and he said in California. I told him I want to speak to a supervisor now! While waiting for 1/2 hour to speak to the super. I called "my" bank TD Banknorth and I told them I disputed this unauthorized transaction. I was told that since it was pending, that I could stop payment for a $25 fee. I did, but stated that I should not have to pay anything to stop this. The TD Banknorth cust. service rep. explained that the fee was also to cover me for the next 6 months so VIP Advantage could not do this again during this period. Finally I got a supervisor from VIP dis- Advantage on the line and she said that I would have to file a police report and fax it in to get any $$$ back. I am changing to another bank due to the fee that I should not have to pay and hope this SCAM is stopped! There is something fishy & fundamentally wrong with TD Banknorth to know to charge you a fee to stop a check and know enough to "protect" you from the identical transaction from the same crooks! I checked out the VIP Advantage site again and printed the terms and conditions. There is nothing in them about this $159.00 fee.
