VIP Auot Transport, Ben, Mike did fulfill obligation to pick up car won't return refund NEW HYDE PARK, NY NEW HYDE PARK New York
On Feb. 15, 2008 I contacted VIP auto transport and spoke with Ben, as the other transport company that I had hired could not pick up our car on the date we needed. When I spoke with Ben and told him my problem he said I was in luck because someone cancelled having their car picked up on Mon. Feb. 18, 2008. He said that they needed to send a contract via email and that I needed to get it signed and faxed back within the hour and that they needed to get the deposit so we would not lose the spot on the truck. The contract was in my husbands name but I signed it. They deducted the $200 deposit.
Ben also told me that he was going to see if the car could be picked up on Sun. Feb. 17, 2008 as we were leaving Feb 18, 2008 to relocate from San Ramon CA to Albuquerque NM. Ben told me that he did not want to see our brand new 2008 GT Mustang going to a terminal. My husband and myself was ok with the car being at a terminal for the day until the driver could pick it up.
On Fri. Feb 15,2008 after I faxed the contract I was to call Ben back but according to Mike he left for the day, so Mike took over from there. Mike gave the address of the terminal and said that we should here from the driver over the weekend and if not to call him first thing Mon. morning if we did not. That way he can call the terminal and let them know that we would be bringing our car there so the driver could pick it up. The driver did not call us so I called Mike back first thing Mon. morning so he made arrangements for our car to go to the terminal. We made a stop in Las Vegas for a few days.
When we got there my husband called the terminal to see if the car was picked up, it was not and they heard nothing from VIP or from the driver. Tues Feb. 19, 2008 still heard nothing from either the driver or VIP. Again my husband called the terminal and still no word from either the driver or VIP. By this time it was around 3:00pm eastern time. We already paid $45 for the car to be there for 3 days and we were running out of time. We called VIP and kept getting a run around. VIP still had no driver secured to pick up our car. So I was going to start searching for another company to pick up our car ASAP.
I just happen to get and email from Kar Magic and I hurried up and called them. They promised us that they would get our car picked up by the next day at the latest. So we called VIP back cancelled and I asked for our deposit back. I was laughed at and told no that I signed a contract. Kar Magic did their job. They secured a driver within a few hours and our car was picked up the very next day delivered to us unharmed. All I want from VIP is he $200 they stold from us.
I do not think they had any intenision of picking up our car. I had also turned them into BBB. I have all emails from me to them and them to me as well as their response to the BBB, in which they say we did not want our car at a terminal and thats when we obtained another company, in which that's an out and out lie as we still have proof that our car was at the terminal they chose. Not only that the terminal we took our car to, the guy their said that others has dropped off their car for VIP to pick up and 3 of them was there for 13 days.
