VIP Readers Services Phone scam for Magazines Lakewood, Ohio
VIP Readers Services is a phone scam for magazines. They tell you one thing over the phone but when the paperwork arrives it states an outrageous high rate. If you try to cancel after receiving the paper work they tell you you cannot - they have a recording of you agreeing to the program. However - what was actually agreed to is not what is on the paperwork or in the recording.
This company tricks people into the program and refuses to allow cancellations after you see the paperwork. They harass and threaten to keep you making the payments. They even try to con you into upgrading for a few dollars more!
When you do the math - you are paying at least $400 more than if you had just subscribed to the magazines on your own for the four years. They talk fast and get a quick commitment via the phone and the chains are attached.
