dropped off dry cleaning two slacks 1 shirt 1cardigan returned 2 days latter presented with a bill for 32.00 protested amount as same items elsewhere would be 10.00-15.00 dollars owner justified charges by stating his shop was the mercedes benz of dry cleaning and further implied it was not his problem that iwas achevy type of customer i informed him that ifelt fleeced based on the fact there were no pries on display for customers to see he laughed this off and impied it was was customers responsibility to ask to view the computer screen at the very least i think a business that charges at least 50 to 70% MORE FOR THE SAME SERVICES THAT COMPETTTORS CHARGE SHOULD HAVE A PRICE LIST ON VIEW TO FOREWORN POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS.

If you would ask the price when you drop off your clothes, you could not leave them if it is too expensive for you. I use Penninou cleaners and they are twice as expensive as virginia cleaners. You get what you pay for. You should go to a discount cleaners if you don't want to pay for quality.

I have been on the dry cleaning business for about 5+ years and I would like to offer some perpective about dry cleaning. Those 4 items you had at my store would run approximately about $20. Thats the price in Texas. Im sure California is much more expensive.
Many people are under the impression that dry cleaners have a big profit margin, when in reality its the opposite. First, Perc, the solvent used in dry cleaning costs about $25 per gallon (in Tx). After that one must factor in the rising cost of electricity that is needed to run those huge machines that wash, press, etc. The average presser makes about $12 and the turnover rate is around 10-12 quality peices per hour. That cost alone costs the store atleast $1 per garmet. Not to mention the manual labor needed to sort, bag, order, and hang all the clothes in time for the customers arrival.
Again my purpose is not to pick at you, but to give you a fresh perpective.
