 After much research I chose to go with Viridian as my energy supplier for my CT home. I chose the 6 month fixed rate plan, and for 6 months I was content with my choice even though I saw lower rates over time. This month was my 7th month. I was told that after the 6th month I could renew or chose not to. I chose not to but I did not call Viridian (my fault, Yes). I was under the impression that after 6 months my plan would just go back to the supplier (CL&P) that I had before. To my surprise, this month my electricity bill doubled! I was appalled. I used half of the amount of energy and I was charged twice as much. My rate went up 10 cents more per KHW. All of the money that I "saved" by switching to Viridian just goes to this bill apparently. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! I chose to stay with them when I saw lower rates because I did not want to cancel or pay a cancellation fee. I will be posting on YELP and other review websites about this company within the next few days because when I called customer service today I was told that there was nothing that could be done. There was no remediation of this conflict done on Viridian's behalf and I was given no alternatives except "would you like to sign up for another fixed rate plan?" Of course my answer is no! Horrible company, horrible customer service.
