Viridian Tripled my energy rate Chicago Illinois
I received an electric bill from Com Ed for $674 (usually my bill is around $100). When I called to inquire, I was told that the energy company I was using (Viridian) had increased my rate from about 5 cents to 16 cents. When I called, I waited on hold for 37 minutes and was told they mailed me a letter, which I never received.
I asked them to look into this, I called back and waited online for 40 minutes, only to be told there is nothing they could do. I had an option of speaking with a supervisor to continue my service and possibly receive a $25 service credit. No Thank You.
I feel taken advantage of. This company contacted me through a desperate old college roomate who was looking to make a commission. She convinced me that this was the way to go and that I would be helping the environment. Now all I have is an electric bill I cannot pay.
