I think Vishen Lakhiani and Mindvalley engage in discriminatory employment practices by requiring people to apply by video. If you're not a beautiful girl in her early 20's, you're wasting your time since they will probably discriminate against you. Is this how Vishen Lakhiani hides his sexuality? Is this just discrimination, sexual harrassment or what? Look at the Mindvalley website and you won't find any 55 year-old bald men, you won't see any NORMAL size women either - just stick thin model types who are probably underpaid. This looks like a very shallow company.

This is an interesting accusation. Allow us to share some facts:

1. We ask for video cover letters because Mindvalley gets applicants from 40+ countries and video cover letters help us guage English ability. Something resumes cannot do. They also reduce the number of applicants for the avg position from 100 to 1. That's a 100 fold decrease and it weeds out the non-serious applicants. This saves us time and allows us to focus on the best people.

2. About the accusation that we only hire good-looking people. Mindvalley is a health and wellness company. We're known for Yoga, Meditation and more. Obviously people drawn to our company tend to be interested in wellness and thus people who take good care of their health. Are they beautiful? Yes. Beautiful hearts, Beautiful Minds, Beautiful Personalities. But we don't care about their outer visage as much as their attitude and what they bring to work.

3. Search Youtube for "Mindvalley Cover Letters" and observe the videos with the text "HIRED". These are the people who got hired. You'll  notice nothing unusual about their looks.

4. We hire a lot of people over 35. We have 4 employees in their 60s. In Costa Rica we hire stay at home moms who run our customer support while taking care of children in need. Our office in Malaysia is younger only because most foreign hires who move to Malaysia tend to be young and without kids and families which make moving much more difficult.

Hope these facts clear things up.
