I spent several days researching scanners before buying a visioneer 8820usb. the majority of the reviews i got gave it good mark.

however it has not worked right from the beginning and since converting to windows xp it has become downright worthless.

the sad thing is that their main help number is not answered. i spent 1 hour and 10 minutes on long distance hold the last time i tried it without a response. i finally hung up.

i called their customer service department number. they answered but the only service they offer is to instruct you to call the 1.00$/min 900 number for help. by now i was so frustrated that i called it. took them 4 minutes to answer, spent 22 minutes talking to some computer geek that felt i was some kind of moron. after asking me a bunch of technical questions he informed me that it should be working fine.

when i pointed out that it doesnt work fine he said someone would get back to me and hung up. still waiting.
they have no email site for help and the manual is worthless.

STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING VISIONEER!!!!!!
