I contracted Vivint previously APEX Alarms 3 years and five months ago and at the beginning they were monitoring my alarm and I was very please with the service but early this year I notice that they were not making follow up calls whenever my alarm would go off. For instance one saturday morning my youngest son open the back door so the alarm went off and it was beeping for at least 20 minutes and no one from Vivint noticed nor called in to follow on any problems so I was kind of confuse. So between early this year and July the same happened for at least three times and no word from Vivint. Eventually I became very concern at the end of July because we had planned to go on vacation, So on August second the day we left for vacation I decided to test the alarm myself so I set the alarm off on purpose and I confirm that Vivint was not monitoring my alarm, I did not received a call from Vivint nor they sent the police or anything. When I was back from vacation I called Vivint to complain but they kept transferring my call to another customer service and they said they could do anything about it so I demanded to cancel my contract and reimburse me for the 39 months fees at that time but they refuse arguing that the alarm systems was working properly, they did offer two months with no charge which I never agreed to because only they know for how long Vivint did not monitor my alarm system while I was paying every month, I am still paying because they got me set up automatic pay which I have no access to modify and I really which Vivnt would apply good business practices and stop taking my money and other customers money when not complying with their service.

How was the alarm company supposed to know it wasn't working?

YOU and Vivint can share blame on this one.

How many times did you make the monthly alarm tests with them that they recommend?....NONE, right?

Why would you wait for almost 8 months and AFTER going on vacation to check this out?

This is really not very smart.

It's also really beyond belief that you let an alarm go for "at least" 20 minutes.

You're lucky Vivint DIDN'T send the police when you're sending false alarms....most cities bill the customer for false alarm calls.

When your contract is about to expire and you want to get rid of Vivint, be SURE to read your contract.

You have a SPECIFIC time frame, about 30 days, to cancel or your contract will auto-renew for another year....bet you didn't know that either.

I have had the system for almost 2 years now, like it and HAVE read my contract, which, obviously, you have not.
