I've been with Vivint/APX for over 3 years now,and I got a call from my brother saying that he got offered a better deal from another alarm company, but he could not get it because he is still in contract whith vivint,-but thats not possible, our contract is over-I told him, then he told me about the AUTOMATIC renewal clause in the contract, so I call customer service and...congratulations you are in for another year!,-But I talked to someone from your company who was trying to get me to sign for 3 more years, and I said no,I want to stay "contrac free",of course he didn't mentioned I was about to renew, like it or not,for one more year, So I got mad because not even the sales man care to tell me about it ,-I want to cancel-I told the re

presentative, consider this my "in advance" notice, not so fast buddy!! they need a written notice, by mail,30 days before the end of the contract, you are responsible to make sure they get it. Good luck traying to get rid of them.

I was a victim of burglary last year, they broke the back door, the operator call me to my cell, she asked me if any body was home,I say no,she said:the back door has been activated and I listend inside the house and all I can hear is bangig,do you want me to call the police?....

It may sound like a joke, but that's what happened

I dont like Vivint,I dont like the name,I dont like the color they choose,I dont like their cutomer service,I REALLY dislike their renewal policy,BUT I'm stuck with them for 8 more months.

I learned my lesson,I will be more careful whith similar companies,if they are all the same,Ill get a pitbull BEWARE OF THE SMALL PRINT.

I admit it ,it was stupid of me to sign the contract without reading it first, and not take a closer look at it for another 3 years,But again they just point at what they want you to see,and you trust there's nothing important left out,...besides I'm shering my experience so anybody who reads it learn from it, Not all of us are as perfect as you are KEN. hope you and them live happily ever after.

And yes,a pit bull already bite me on the butt...it's name...Vivint

It's in my Vivint contract front page, BOLD type and all caps sec. 2.4.  It is NOT in fine type OR hidden.

It says: " TERM FOR SERVICES THE ORIGINAL TERM OF THIS CONTRACT STARTS ON THE DAY THIS AGREEMENT IS SIGNED AND CONTINUES FOR FORTY-TWO (42) MONTHS, AND WILL ATOMATICALLY CONTINUE FROM YEAR TO YEAR THEREAFTER UNLESS CANCELLED BY EITHER OF US IN WRITING NO LATER THAN THIRTY (30) DAYS BEFORE THE END OF THE ORIGINAL TERM OR ANY RENEWAL TERM."

It is written EXACTLY as I've typed it, including all caps, bold face and underlining on the FRONT of the contract.  You just can't really miss it.

No, I don't work for them, but I have had their service for over a year with no complaints and have gotten reasonable responses to ALL of my questions.

For your continued protection, be sure to test the system with them periodically.

BTW, I  also seriously dislike the new name and color they chose.  I think it's stupid and nobody seeing the yard signs has a clue it's for an alarm service.  APX  and the Blue color was MUCH more descriptive.

When you get that pit bull, have it bite you on the butt, so you'll read the next contract before signing it.
