We have been with Vivint for 5 years and out of all those years we were happy for the first 3. When we were sold the system we were told it is a 3 year contract and that when we purchased new doors they would send a tech out for free to fix the doors so they would work with the system. After our first 3 years we were planning on getting rid of the system due to unforeseen circumstances. Low and behold we were stuck in a 5 year contract. After being told this I did take a look at the contract and saw that there. So we stuck with it.

During this time we stated running into issues with the system making a loud beeping nose, many times in the middle of the night, when it was not even armed. This was and has been VERY annoying. I would have to push the off button on my remote to get it to stop. Then when we got a new door and called to get it fixed so it connected with the system we were told there is a fee for that. Even though we were told it would be free it did not matter. So we still have a door that is not connected to the system and that also means we cannot use the system. Now that we have hit the 5 year mark I called in to cancel the service due to one, all the issues and unhappiness we have had with it for the past 2 years and two, due to the fact my husband and I are both unemployed and have little income coming in. This cut was a no brainier in regards to providing for my two girls. When I called I was told of yet another catch to this whole ordeal....you have to put it in writing that you want to cancel the service at least 30 days before your sign on date. We are 15 days past that date. GO FIGURE!! I did go look at the contract again and found it on there, but I know I am not the only one that has skimmed a contract after having a representative in person talk to me about it. I guess I was too trust worthy of a company representative coming to my door trying to grow their business. I will NOT make this mistake again.

The company has "done what they can" to help me but I am still NOT HAPPY and will let everyone know that. I know there is more that can be done. To all who read this....beware of what you are told about the system and what you are getting yourselves into. I would hate to see you in the same boat as I am.

VIVINT AWESOME COMPANY

I see people fail to read their contracts or agreements and that is not the company's fault.  I just got my system, the basic package.  No need for all those bells and whistles.  Who needs the doors involved in system if you have door sensors on them.  I like my door locks just the way they are.  If you got stuck with another five years, then bad on you for not looking at agreement that YOU SIGNED voluntarily.  Read first next time.  Hoped you learned your lesson.  I get that with the reservists about not remembering what their responsibilities are to keep getting free berthing and they complain too.  It is their fault, as they too did not read their responsibilities or maybe had lapses of memory.  The experience and customer service was beyond what I expected and I am a financial person for the Navy used to dealing with vendors and setting up contracts as well as agreements.  I got so many calls about the upcoming appointment and after the set up on did they tell me, show me all they were suppose to.  The boss of the lead tech and the lead tech's employee showed up to make sure of their work.  Couldn't have asked for more or better service.  System works amazing.  I love it.
