Alarm Service companies are the WORST and Vivint (pka APX Alarm) is the worst of the worst when it comes to cancellation your overpriced contract at the END of term.   They make it as impossible to effectively cancel your contract and to keep charging you past the end of the term.


I paid every dime through the end of my contract even though I disconnected the equipment over a year ago during my kitchen remodel.  I called on the 15th to determine the exact process for cancelling and sent my letter as directed.  No Response.  I called on the 27th to follow up.  I had to listen to a long sales pitch...which I did politely.  Then declined their "new deal". 

Then the "Manager" says she can't accept my cancellation because it was received two days late (the contract requires "at least 30 days notice"...why?).  So now, I'm on month-to-month.  I said, well, then let's make it effective for after that month you feel you're entitled to.  She says, "We can't accept your cancellation until after the amount is paid on the 10th."

I can see it coming!  Can you?  I will call again on the 10th as she advised and I'll bet my last dollar that they will have some technical reason that my cancellation again is not "acceptable".
