Vivint Scam of elderly people Provo, Utah
My mother was approached by these criminals in Aug of 2010. They just "happened to be in the neighborhood".
She had not agreed to anything when the salesman called his installer and had him start the work on the house. She finally got them to stop and called me for advise. My brother and I both spoke to the salesman the next day and he swore up and down that it was only a 1 year contract and that she could get out of it within that time.
Based on the lies from the rip-off artist we agreed to the 1 year contract. After asking him 6 or 7 times about the lenght of contract and that she would be able to get out of it. She is on social security and money is tight.
Now a year and couple months later we are still fighting them to come get their equipment out of her house and we had to close her checking account to stop them from stealing more of her money. There has to be some way to stop these crooks.
