Vivint Solar Vivint Solar refused to remove a lien from a private resident despite being paid in full and being told for over a year to process the payoff Lehi Nationwide
The issue is that Vivint Solar refuses to completely process the payoff of solar panels which they installed on top of a private resident. The situration is that I purchased a home which the former owners had a power purchase agreement with Vivint Solar. As part of the sale, the escrow company sent a check to Vivint Solar to pay-off the agreement. Vivint Solar cashed the checked and I have spent the next 17 months communicating with them trying to get them to aknowledge that the panels are paid off. They refuse to submit any documentation confirming that the panels are paid off. Today, I obtained a title report as part of my mortgage refinance that shows that Vivint Solar still has a lien on my house for panels which were paid off 17 months ago.
I am not sure what scam they are running that requires them to not aknowledge that the panels are paid off or to remove the lien. But my advise to anyone wishing to purchse solar panels, is to not use Vivint Solar as their practices are unethical and will cause you effort when they refuse to remove liens or aknowledge that you don't owe them any money.

Too bad you're full of garbage and trying to smear the name of a good, reputable company with lies. Vivint Solar doesn't place a lien on any property in California per California State Law and per the CA Public Utilities Commission (PUC). You might wanna know the laws in California before you try and lie to people about it. Here they are for yours and every customers viewing pleasure. Keep in mind this is a letter every Vivint Solar customer in the state of California gets after their system is installed. Hence is why I know this. Enjoy! To Whom It May Concern, Vivint Solar is an independent solar energy producer that owns a photovoltaic system at the above referenced address.
Vivint Solar has NO security interest, lien, or any encumbrance with respect to the above referenced property. As required by law, Vivint Solar recorded a Notice of Independent Solar EnergyProducer Contract. The recording is: * NOT evidence of a lien, encumbrance, or other cloud on the title of the property or any of the customer's assets; and * ONLY a notification by Vivint Solar that it owns the photovoltaic system, as its sole personal property. "According to California state law, every 'independent solar energy producer' is statutorily required to record a 'Notice of an Independent Solar Energy Producer Contract, within 30 days of the signing of the contract, against the title to the real property on which the electricity is generated'… CA PUC § 2869(b)).
The statute continues that, "the recorded Notice of an Independent Solar Energy Producer Contract does not constitute a title defect, LIEN, or encumbrance against the real property…" CA PUC § 2869(c)(1)). For the foregoing reasons, the notice recorded by Vivint Solar should not affect, in anyway, the customer's right in his/her home or any lien holders or mortgagee's rights with respect to the property. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, VIVINT SOLAR HEREBY DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL LIEN RIGHTS, SECURITY INTERESTS, OR ENCUMBRANCES OF ANY KIND AFFECTING THE ABOVE REFERENCED PROPERTY. VIVINT SOLAR'S SOLE INTEREST RELATING TO THE PROPERTY IS IN ITS OWNERSHIP AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM"
Maybe the reason Vivint won't acknowledge the lien on your house is because there is no lien from them. Not to mention in the actual agreement that every customer signs, it specifically states right on the cover page that they do not place a lien on your property, and they do not raise your property taxes as a result of having their system. I've been a Vivint Solar Customer for 2 years. Several of my neighbors also had it installed, moved, had new customers move in. And none of them paid a lien or had that problem. My daughter lives in your town, she also ironically bought a home that previously had Vivint Solar, she also has never had any liens. Next time before you go put a bogus comment on a ripoff report website, think about what you're going to say first. If anyone is a ripping anyone off, it's you.
