Vizo Replace defective product with another defective product Internet
Purchased Vizio TV, DVD Player, Sound System as Christmas Gifts for wife and son. I purchased matched products to make sure there was not "mis-matched" products or brands problems. We used the DVD Player about a dozen times and the disk drawer stopped opening. I cantacted Vizio and they told me I would have to send them the player "to insure that it was not working properly"! In simple words they wanted to be sure I was able to tell drawer was not working. They sent a replacement to my house but because I am an over the road truck driver and only home 3/4 days every 6/8 weeks it was not hooked up in late August when it came in. I was on the road for 3 months inorder to be home for 2 weeks at Christmas and New Years. I hooked up the replacement and guess what, it did not work! The DVD Player would not send a signal to the TV and again the disk drawer will not open! I contacted Vizio and they said "sorry" you had 90 days to tell we sent you a defective replacement but your stuck with it. They had no concern that they replaced a bad unit with one even worse. I spoke to "Customer Service" Supervisor and he made it clear that Vizio did not care that they replaced a defective product with a more defective product. He made it clear that Vizio DID NOT CARE AT ALL!!! I told him I was only one customer but I would never purchase another Vizio product and encourage others not to purchase them. He said "OK" and "Thanks". If you care about after sale quailty service and customer service then STAY AWAY FROM VIZIO!!!!

My concern that Vizio chose to replace a defective unit with another unit even more defective should be a major concern! Or do most of their units come defective?

In all fairness to Vizio, you knew you'd be getting the replacement while away from home. Why didn't you arrange for someone else to take delivery and test that the item worked, instead of letting it sit unopened for over 90 days? You can't expect a company to extend their polcies around an unusual work schedule.
