In 2002, we had signed up for DISH service through VMC Satellite and had cancelled it. I can't remember the details, but I think we got a better offer and cancelled VMC's service, maybe even before they hooked up our DISH. But they still charged us and I filed a complaint with the MN Better Business Bureau. They claimed we were supposed to return a card which we had never received. So they told us to send them a letter stating we never received the card and then they wouldn't charge us. So we did and we didn't hear anything from them until now - 5 years later!

We receive an invoice stating "Instead of calling our office and cancelling your order, you improperly disputed your credit card. Credit card processing fee incurred by VMC Satellite = $25.00. Past Due - if payment is not received by November 30, 2007, we will be forced to send this account to collections. Total amount due: $25.00. Your payment is due in our office no later than Sep 30, 2002." Yes, 2002 - that's not a type-o!
