Complaint Review: Voice Stream Wireless

I just found out yesterday 12/31/01, Voice Stream wireless has been ripping off my father and many of his friends in Florida. They signed up for what they thought was a plan of certain free minutes per week, and extra on weekends per month but that was not the case.

My father paid his bill before the due date so as to not be late when out of town. They disconnected his phone and told him that he had exceeded the minutes allowed him, and that the amount the company told him to pay prior to leaving town was not the right amount. They are also now charging him $.35/minute now. I also found out that his friends have paid in excess of $1,200 a month for their "great" monthly plan advertised.

We cancelled his service immediately and intend on fighting cancellation charges and the last bill they claim he still owes. I feel they did not explain the contract well because no one in their right mind would agree to such a rip off!
