I am making this report  against the Volkswagen Service Department of Santa Monica for their gross negligence, lack of transparency, and failure to address concerns during my recent interactions with them. I believe their actions may potentially violate consumer protection laws, including the California Automotive Repair Act and the California Consumer Legal Remedies Act.

I visited the Volkswagen Service Department of Santa Monica for routine maintenance. However, there was a clear lack of transparency throughout my interactions. They failed to inform me or provide documentation regarding the condition of my front brakes, only ever telling me I needed rear brakes which raises serious safety concerns since I later found out I didn't even need rear brakes. They also wanted to charge me an astronomical amount for the rear brakes. Moreover, they put the wrong VIN on my invoices, which is suspicious. Upon repossesion of the car the first time the battery had been drained despite this never being an issue when I first brought it in.

The service department allowed me to leave their premises multiple times without functioning front brakes, displaying negligence and disregard for my safety and the safety of others. This is a severe matter that should not be taken lightly.

Battery Issue:

When I raised the battery light issue, they took no responsibility and attempted to charge me for a new battery instead of addressing the problem caused by their week-long possession of my car. Only after significant frustration did they agree to resolve the battery issue.

I have multiple photographs, videos, and invoice records that support my claims. These materials clearly depict the neglected front brake issue and highlight the potential risks associated with driving a vehicle in such a dangerous condition.

Driving a vehicle with compromised front brakes can have severe consequences. Another repair shop expressed shock at the dangerous condition I was allowed to drive in for an extended period. I am disappointed in Volkswagen's prioritization of customer safety. The service department and Volkswagen should be held liable if their negligence leads to accidents or injuries.

The Volkswagen Service Department of Santa Monica's gross negligence, lack of transparency, and failure to address concerns have put my safety and the safety of others at risk.

This is all non-warranty work, isn't it? Why on earth are you opening yourself up for deer PRICE GOUGING as well as SUBSTANDARD work by PARTS CHANGERS instead of REAL mechanics? Most importantly why are you even doing business with another slimeball car dealer which adds FAKE FEES to a sale, thus telling the world HONESTY a d INTERGRITY are NOT in practice there? By their own admission, when you buy a new car there, they add these BOGUS FEES called "processing" and other names designed to DEFRAUD you? The fraud and deception which is extant on the sales floor of sleazy car dealers has for years flown into the shop like raw sewage on a downhill street! Go find yourself a good, highly experienced independent shop where you will get better prices and real mechanics and I do not mean trash like Pep Boys or Walmart.
