Volkswagon Of America - VW OWNERS-Don't Put Up With Your Faulty Cars! My Jetta is falling apart and it's only 2 1/2 years old! Spokane Internet

If you are looking to buy a VW - DON'T! If you have one, please read on. VW is selling faulty vehicles and not taking responsibility for them. The cars are malfunctioning, deteriorating and causing owners strife and wasting their money.

I have a 2001 Wolfsburg Ed Jetta and have had nothing but problems. VW has paid for some of these (Faulty window clips, ignition coils) but failed to notify of any recalls. I learned of the recalls on my own, by experiencing the problem and researching on the internet. I had to drive around for 2 weeks before the VW dealer could fix my window. It was great! Of course it was rainy and I had no way to shelter myself other than cover the empty window with a sheet of plastic!

My enterior is peeling off, the bees-wax they used to sound proof the car melts in warm weather causing not only the sound proofing to deteriorate, but also the wax to run down the paint on my car. It doesn't wash off!

About 3 months ago, the car didn't start in the morning and had to be towed. I got the joy of paying for the Turbo Recircultion Valve to be replaced. More recently, the check engine light is coming on. In the past 3 WEEKS IV'E BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES! They say there is still no real guarentee that the problem is fixed!

I've been trying to sell the car, but can't because I owe $14,600 and no one will buy the car as it's had all of the problems and if I don't tell the prospective buyer about the problems, I fear they may come back and shoot me when they figure it out!

VW has put me and others in horrible positions, and I'm NOT putting up with it. If you or someone you know has a VW they are having problems with, please tell them to contact me through the rebuttal key Look up Volkswagon of America, you'll discover the truth that VW doesn't want you to know!

Don't put up with this! VW needs to be reprimanded for thier horrible cars!

VW - Lemon Law on 2001 Jetta

#2Consumer Suggestion

Fri, October 31, 2003

I purchased a 2001 VW Jetta for my wife. We had all the same problems with the windows cranks breaking and many more. The mass air flow sensor caused the vehicle to not exceed 25 MPH for the first 20 minutes of driving. This is extremely hazardous for people who commute.

We finally applied for the lemon law and because they had just fixed the problem for the 6th time, they insisted the problem was fixed. So....we waited till the sensor went again...and it did.

At that point Gunther VW and VW of America bought the car back like they're suppose to. It was biggest hassel I've ever experienced with a car and a car manufacturer.

I recommend that if anyone has a VW with a part that has been replaced 3 times in the first 2 years, look into the state lemon law policies.

We were able to get out of our vehicle free of charge, thank God!

Good Luck.
