Volswagan OF AMERICA Bought new Beetle was told I would get 34MPG city and 44mpg hiway, I get 24city and 37mpg hiway with desiel Everett Washington
i bought a 2002 new beetle desiel tdi with 23,000 miles, i was told i would get 34 mpg in the city and 44 on the hiway possible more, i get 24 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the hiway, the company pignataro volkswagan told me the new beetle was not broken in yet, but with 23,000 miles it should be plenty broken in, pignataro would not help me out and told me to write to volkwagon of america I called and called they would not help me out, i bought the used car with 23,0000 miles for $14,000 if is paid off now, since then the rotors wore out, i have replaced the front window twice, my car was broken into and the alarm was not hooked up yet a $900 electronic stethescope was stolen, along with a $300 dvd player, amost other items, in which i have a police report, i had to pay half for their mistake, because they did not hook up the alarm system correctly, i have spent a total of about $9,000 extra money trying to get this car to work right, now they want me to bore out the engine to increase the milage, i cannot afford to pay anymore, for this car, the heated seat on the drivers seat went out a month after i bought it, i fixed that element, i have friends who claim they get up to 60 mpg with thier new beeetle, yet mine is an automatic it should onlt take away a couple mpg, and the stick should not add 20 or more mpg, i need some help, it seems that no one will help me out i hate to sell it, i cannot lie to the buyer, and at 6'6'' i fit into this car better than any other car i have owned, after all that is said and done my best mpg is 37 hiway and 24 or less in the city, please help me
