Volvo of Dallas Frisco location Beware or their sales practices Frisco, Texas
I went to Volvo of Dallas one rainy day, picked out a car, had my trade in appraised and made a deal. I told the sales rep I would have the money drafted over to him that day to pay for the car. His sales manager came out and said they had to run my credit or I could not purchase a car from them. I was paying cash and didn't see any reason to have my credit pulled. So I wrote out a deposit check and told them I would be back the next morning before work to pick the car up.
My banker text me the next morning and said is this the dollar amount you agreed to on this car? I said no. They had raised the price $1,500. I then called the sales rep and asked him what price we had agreed to and he told he the same as I had on the dealer work up sheet. He then checked and called me back saying his manager wasn't making enough money and he had raised it the $1,500. Finally after a few calls he said his manager decided to come down to $500 over the agreed price to make the deal. I told the sales rep that I purchase three to four cars a year and you never agree to a price and change it on a customer when their bank is drafting money to them. He went on trying to defend his manager and Volvo of Dallas saying they weren't making any money. I finally reversed it on him and said "How does it feel to go out on the lot, greet a customer, sell them on you, your dealership, your service department, make a deal and then have your manager tear it apart and turn it into no sale right before your eyes and you make no money?" He then started to back down and tell me that this wasn't the first time management had done this to him and customers he had waited on.
I was shocked on the sales practices of this dealership and I am happy to say I stopped payment on my deposit check that day and was able to purchase at another dealership that didn't have such poor sales practices and their price was lower on a better equipped car. I also later found out this is a Van Tuyl Group Store. If I had known that I would of never went on their lot. Beware if you shop at Volvo of Dallas
