Complaint Review: Volvo of North America

Volvo of North America Our Volvo 780 has spent more time in shop than on road. Waste of money. Greensboro, North Carolina

My husband is a semi-truck owner, he purchased a 07' Volvo 780 with a isx cummins engine, it has been nothing but trouble, 10's of thousands of dollars spent in repair bills.

Trucks were designed wrong, they placed egr valves on the hot side of the engines where the heat causes nothing but problems with the turbos and other parts in that area.  Volvo will not do a recall on these faulty trucks, we will never buy another Volvo semi-truck.

Volvo of Denver in my opinion is one of the worst dealers in the network, they keep your truck down and then don't honor warranty's of other Volvo dealers.   No support within this Volvo dealer network for truck owners.   Truckers don't make the same mistake we did-- stay away from these trucks, we have talked to many other owners while waiting for truck to get fixed and all have the same story to tell.  

These trucks can't pass a shop,  if you have one- trade it in for something that won't make you go broke, don't think it will get better-- because it doesn't.

These trucks are promoted as fuel-savers, HA...Our Detroit 60 engines get better fuel mileage than these, and are very reliable, easy to work on and parts are easy to get.  They have saved our business, we would have gone out of business if we only had Volvo's.
