5-8-09 Purchased boat for 16,500. Called Volvo Penta. Told me to take boat to Marine. Took boat to Marine 7-10-08 paid 800.00. Volvo Penta would not reimburse us. Stated that warranty expired. Boat had 25 hours on it when we purchased it. I found out on 8/31/09 they refused to pay.

I cannot take them to small claims court because they are located in Virginia and Virginia will not let me have a telephone hearing. I must fly there, pay for a hotel and incur more costs. I wrote several letters and received several responses that basically say, "We are not paying you for the faulty water pump that overheated your boat even though the water pump was only used for 25 hours."

Volvo Penta will do anything to take your money and IF YOUR PRODUCT IS FAULTY THEY WILL DENY AND DENY THAT THEY HAVE ANY PART IN FIXING IT.

BEWARE VOLVO PENTA HAS MORE LEGAL AGENTS THAN SALES AGENTS

You left out alot of info.  And your dates dont match up.  When was this boat originally purchased new?  Also it doesnt matter how many hours are on the engine.  If you dry start the motor you will fry the rubber impellar in the water pump.  If the boat was more than two years old when you got it.  You should have replaced the impellar.  Just a suggestion--you should rear all the owners manuels and warranty info on the boat.  FYI--I was previously a service manager for a very large boat dealership and we never had any problems getting reimbursed for Volvo warranty claims.
