I bought a Linksys router with Vonage phone ports at Best Buy for $115 with option for rebate if I signed with Vonage. I signed with Vonage but on a month-to-month basis, and I did not send in the rebate form for the router. I had fairly good phone service, but had issues with the router. Linksys would always tell me it was a Vonage issue, and Vonage would say it was a Charter Cable issue.

About 2-3 months into my service I noticed I was not receiving any calls on the Vonage line. I tried calling the number for which I had been paying, and got a business. I then called Vonage and after several attempts, they admitted to giving my number to someone else. They did not offer an explanation or compensation. They did provide me with a temporary number, but after a few weeks of not being able to get my original number back, or any compensation, I cancelled.

They charged my bank account a cancellation fee, and never refunded any money for the time I was without a number. So, I am out the $115.00 for the router, plus about $200.00 for the Vonage charges. My complaints to Vonage fell on deaf ears.
