In short, I ported my phone number on May 8th back to AT&T. The VOIP box no longer recevied calls. Vonage continued to bill me until September and Refused to refund the money.

Customer support was rude, tried to upsell me new products and refused to refund what they stole.

Even though industry wide when a number ports the orginally utility closes the account, VONAGE does not do this.

The stated termination policy does not call this out either. VONAGE claims that a seperate discounect call from the consumer is required to close the account dispite the fact that the service has been ported to another utility.

The only disclosures they refer to are that "Third Parties are not allowed to make changes to the agreement" and "Lack of Use for any reason" does not qualify for a credit.

While calling, I learned that my state utility board has no jursidiction or influence on a VOIP provider. Vonage claims that the FCC has no jursidiction either due to the type of service they offer.

Avoid at all costs, you have NO recourse if they mess up your billing. Also, would you want to trust your 911 service to a company that can't get there own internal billing correct.
