Our CD of over 100K$ matured on June 28. I telephoned and faxed a request to send us the money, as they have no ability to wire or electronically transfer money, in its self amazing. Now 14 days later, we still do not have the check. Repeated phone calls can not tell us if or when the money was sent. They claim that it might take 7-10 business days for the mail. Sorry, but I have sent mail from the smallest villages of Guatemala and have them arrive here in less than 7 days. East coast to Oregon is usually 3-4 days.

I suspect that they are purposefully very slow in giving folks their money back, so that they can profit on the use of my money. It is costing me $13 a day in lost interest, for a total so far of $182! Still no check, the mail just came!

So let me get this straight. After 14 days and counting, they still have yet to GIVE you back your own money.

But if a Merchant was to place a hold on your debit card, without your consent and cause you to go over the Available Balance, Wachovia is certainly willing to TAKE money from your account with fees EVEN BEFORE the transaction clears or posts.

Interesting, to say the least.
