I work at the waffle house in beaumont off of walden rd by I10 east. I worked there before when colleen was the manager and everything was fine. I quit due to family reasons. Well i came back june 7th 2010 and we had a manager who is the owners son. Well now that he is promoted to district manager he feel's he has all control and can do what he want. We have a new manager dwayne clay ross and him and blaine are very SEXIST! I asked to be a grill op several time which is a person who cooks. The refuse to give it to me and said that it doesnt look right for guys to wait tables and women to cook cause customers perfer females to wait on them. Truth is they dont want females to cook thay hire all guys to cook and all women to wait tables. On the bottom of our check stubs and in the policy it says waffle house is an equal oppurtunity employer which is a lie. Im the only one who is early and does all my work and they wont let me have my days off or even give me my off days in a row. They scheduled me 8 days in a row and just put me anywhere on the schedule. The manager knows i can cook but they wont let me do what I want but they let the guys change from cook to waiter. Im ready to quit and find another job but its hard right now and I really am tired of the discrimination.
