I have two vehicles which were(Not anymore!) serviced only by Wal-Mart. The transfer case in my 1985 Chevy Suburban blew up. When checked by a Mechanic as to why, I was told that it had been running on low fluid for so long that the seals blew and the rest leaked out. I told him that it was impossible as Wal-Mart had told me that they checked it each time.

I contacted Wal-Mart on this matter and was told that someone would be out to look at the transfer case. A gentleman did come out and did say that it looked like Wal-Mart's fault. He then said that he would fill out a report and send it in for us.

A week later we were contacted by the claims department for Wal-Mart. They told us that, although it was quite obvious that Wal-Mart's neglectfulness had indeed caused the problem, they would have to send out a Investigator "Just so we can prove where the money is going"(to quote the claims department) A nice gentleman came out and took pictures. He said that it indeed looked like the case had been going dry for quite a while and he would get the report in as soon as possible so that we could get reimbersed for the money we had now spent to get the vehicle back on the road. (Because we had some good friends. We were able to get a new transfer case and have it installed for only $700. And that all we were asking Wal-Mart to pay).

We were very pleased at the treatment we had received and was at ease with the thought that soon we would have our money refunded to us.

What a shock we recieved two weeks later. A letter from Wal-Mart stating that, although it was proven neglect on their part, they saw no reason to reimberse us our $700. The case is still being persued and this fight is not over with yet.
