Wal-Mart employees rude nasty costumer service employees who think that they are God Miami Oklahoma
When you are a single parent with 5 children you try to do all your shopping all in one place for convience. Forget it. Especially when you have to exchange something for wrong size or take it back when it doesn't work.
This Wal-mart rude nasty costumer service department don't live up to there moto. When I had to take something back for an exchange bacause it simply did not work. They acted like I was trying to rip off the store. They wanted a reciept which I didn't have because it was a present from a friend.
I just simply wanted a new one, but they had to sit there and argue with me. I had all my children standing there and there treating me like some kind of criminal. Talking down to me like I was nothing. It took over 30 minutes to simply drop off the damaged material. Then to get a new one and get out the store with it took an additional 45 minutes. Just because they wanted to argue with the exchange. It was in its original packaging, but still they had to argue with me with the amount of exchanges I have made.
But when you do your shopping with 5 kids, you don't have time to do lots of trying on clothes, and sometimes purchase the wrong size not to mention keeping the reciepts that they want, I mean if you return it with tags still on, what's the problem. I have done my shopping at Wal-mart for the past 13 years, and not until we got our new store did I have any big problems with this store.
I would hate to take my business to another store for the convience sake, but it is not worth the the demeaning repercution you recieve. I spend an average of $700 or more dollars in this store a month between food and other items, and I know that I am not the only one. You would think that they didn't want to loose such valuable customers, but I guess that I was wrong.

I do understand all about walmart LOL. I went to a store down in the Long Beach area with a friend who work in another walmart to purchase kitchen products. I got to the checkout Lady place all my item on the counter to checkout . Well the checker pick up a item i got out of the womans department , and told me that was not the price of the item i pick up . I ask her what do you mean that is not the price of the item i had place on the counter she said someone change it the price i got heated up , and told her i have no reason to change any tag on a item that cost 10 dollars . Then i ask her to call a manager because all the items on the table were the same as the one i had . The manager told her to sell me what was on the item , and go have someone pull all the items off the sale table since someone had mark them all wrong . My friend told her you have to sell the item with the price listed on the sticker . Anyways i dont go to walmart anymore i go to other retailers who know what the heck there doing , and know how to treat consumers .

To Alyssa,
A receipt is necessary, it shows how and that you actually did pay for the item. Try to think as a biz owner, I purchase with a $200 check. The next day, before it has time to clear I comeback and want to return merch for $200 cash. You think its a good idea to give it to me? No way, I'll have to wait a few days for the check to clear. That's assuming I brough back a receipt showing that I paid with check. Now imagine that I have no receipt at all. You're just going to take my word that I paid cash without question? You won't be in business for very long (unfortunately, too many try to scam from WalMart).
On exchanges- do you want to pay full price for a product that someone else has taken home, used, and returned? Most people won't, so the retailer has to either discount the item or attempt to return to manufacturer (not always possible, especially clothes made overseas).
So until you are ready to wear underwear that someone else wore for a week, or even pick up the box off the shelf that is open & missing packaging over a sealed item, don't expect a smile with the exchange.
(I'll add that at upscale retailers like Nordstroms, they have such high mark-ups that they can afford to throw your return in the trash)

I am a former General Manager for a large retail chain. Some chains, and I am unsure if Wal-Mart does or not, uses an outside source for checking on customers that return numerous items without a receipt or for large dollar amounts. You said they argue with the amount of exchanges that you make, so they must either have you in the system of theirs, and outside source, or recognize you. When you work Customer Service in a busy store even, you do reconize folks that return stuff frequently.
Unfortunately, you don't sound like you were treated very friendly. You also don't sound like you fit the profile of what were referred as "Bungo" theif either. If you get into a push and shove match (remember, these poor folks are making very little and probably with little/no benefits) take a step back and try using some tact. "Yeah, I return and exchange a lot of stuff here, it is because I do all my shopping here and love your store/prices/service and have never had a problem before", can go a long way.
One last recommendation, ask to speak to the store manager at a different time. Not a department mgr. or supervisor, but the store g.m. and explain what happen. Ask him if you are on some list or did something wrong. I am positive you will recieve immediate attention and get an explination and maybe an apology.
Good Luck,

disagree with the rude wal-mart employees

I disagree with the rude wal-mart employees here. returning and exchanging are part of the store policy. If a person bought an item and has not used it or it's defective they can return/exchange items as they wish...employees who get annoyed with people's constant returns are being rude and displaying bad customer service skills. A receipt is NOT always needed to return an item, and you can return an item I believe three times a year with no receipt. Employees who give returns a hassle are stupid and rude people and just giving people a hard time for no reason. This is not good customer service, and this kind of attitude should not be justified.
What is so annoying to a wal-mart worker about someone returning something a lot? are you that petty that someone returning items stems gossip or mistreatment--obviously so because that is the indication of a stupid and petty person...get a life and stop whining about customers who have the RIGHT to return items--this is store policy and as long as you are a corporate giant like wal-mart or any company..people have every right to return items they do not want.

I am no longer a retail employee, and I must say that you are not making me miss those days at all! I am so sick of customers whining about a store giving them a hard time about returning something without a receipt. They do this, or else people would be grabbing stuff off of the shelves & bringing it to the service desk, trying to 'return' it all of the time. Bottom line, RECEIPTS REQUIRED FOR RETURNS!
BTW....That's 'customer', not 'costomer'.

I am an employee at the Miami WalMart SuperCenter. I think that all the employees at WalMart do an awesome job, except for some of the management, and as for the service desk there, they do very well.
Customers take advantage of exchanging and getting a refund on items. They buy or steal the items, get their use out of them and when their tired of it, they take it to the service desk and expect us to just automatically give them their money back without any questions asked. And you can only exchange items without a receipt a couple of times.
The Miami WalMart managers are stupid for letting customers exchange things or get a refund on things when the item they bring back are obviously worn out. It even says it the walmart guide lines that this is the way it is, then you'll get a manager come in and tell you other wise, managers break the rule just to make the customers happy which is not right.
Also, when you buy clothes, try them on first to make sure they fit, thats why we have fitting rooms. Don't wear them a couple times and then bring them back dirty.

Why do you think that Wal-Mart has to take stuff back if you don't have a receipt? Just because you have five kids?
Make sure the clothes fit before you leave and hold on to your recipts just in case. I don't know how you couldn't have time to make sure your children are clothed properly. The tags mean nothing. How hard is it to shoplift and walk back in an hour later and ask for an exchange just because the tags are still on? Jeeez, think before you write or have any more kids.
