Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #2687 Customer service is a joke. All you do is get the runaround from every manager. They all tell you a diffent story to try and get you to go away. Greer South Carolina
Don't buy GE microwaves from Walmart If you have bought or thinking about purchasing a new microwave beware of the models Walmart sells. Specifically the GE Model WES1450DM1BB.
What is the problem? Well, along with the other consumers who purchased this particular model microwave made by GE and sold by Walmart, within 2 months it just up and quit working.
This part happens to be at least a $50.00 part, not including labor to repair. Just for this repair it will cost nearly the $120.00 I paid for this thing new. Doesn't seem worth it does it? As far as the turn table motor, well the microwave service man can't even get the part.
Why is a certified and well qualified microwave repair tech unable to order parts for a brand new microwave?
Well the answer is Walmart muscled GE to use inferior parts and cheap overseas labor to produce microwaves cheaper. Therefore replacement parts are just not made available. So if your microwave model number starts with WES you are probably going to have a hard time finding replacement parts.
Of course this is not entirely Walmart's fault, they do only sell the things, GE is also to blame. GE should tell Walmart, as a company we, (GE) produce quality products and will not produce inferior products just so you (Walmart) can sell them cheaper.
Oh and have fun contacting GE support or returning to Walmart you'll just get the normal run around. Then most likely get frustrated like they want and give up. Then go to another store and buy another GE microwave. Your out a bunch of money and GE is selling twice as many microwaves.

If it is really only 2 months old Wal-mart would return it. You have no problem really.

Don't buy a microwave at Wal Mart?

No argument there. I would never buy any kind of expensive appliance at Wal Mart. Wal Mart is a discount retailer, not an appliance store. So while it may be cheaper to buy there, they are not looking to uphold a reputation for selling quality appliances.
To be honest, I prefer to avoid Wal Mart altogether. Their whole operation is "low rent".

After two months it is a warranty issue not a Wal-Mart issue.
Amazing how easy this stuff is but I guess we would rather make it easier by going to the store and actually taking more time to get it fixed. :|

The manual said the warranty was 1 year.

And they actually will provide a replacement unit rather than attempt a repair. At the retail location from which it was purchased. What did Wal-Mart tell you? And did you call GE to get an authorization first? It seems that those were made specifically for Wal-Mart and so Wal-Mart needs to honor the warranty. If the store manager isn't helping, contact the district manager. If that fails, I'd sue.
