While visiting family in WV for Thanksgiving, my husband and I decided to go to WalMart for some black friday shopping.  We arrived at the store at 3:30am and were told that the 32" emerson tv that was supposed to go on sale at 5:00am was already sold out. Nowhere in their ad did it say tickets would be given out the night before for certain items (tv, laptops,etc.).  I'm sure the walmart employees' families knew about this scam and were in line early the night before to get their tickets.  The walmart employees were quick to suggest a higher priced tv, though.  Thanks, but no thanks.  I left the store with nothing.Thank goodness we have choices, and I'll be taking my business to Target and Costco instead of Walmart and Sams.

You should be glad they told you they were gone.  But really when will people see that an hour or twp before a sale starts is not early.  Don't you watch TV?  Do you not leave your house on Thanksgiving?  People start lining up the afternoon before.  To get the super deal your basically have to give up at least 12 hours.  Aka they are not worth it.

Myself I don't get the door busters.  You buy cheap electronics for a cheap price.  But you can buy better electronics on sale and IMO they are a better value.

Seriously you can get a 32" TV all the times for $300 bucks.  Is it worth it to get a cheaper brand for $100 less.  A TV that is a one time buy and likely has a huge defect rate?

I remember the one year back in the late 90's where the cheap VCR has so many defectives that the weeks after xmas we had claims full of them.  Remember you get what you pay for.

What difference does it make?  If Wal-Mart has 30 of those TVs and they sell them once they have 30 people in line, you wouldn't have got one at 5 anyway.  Face it, you were too late to the party.  If you go to a Black Friday sale at 3:30 and it starts at 5, you aren't getting squat.  People camp out in front of the store for those sales.

i work for walmart and i was off that night but by the time i got there at 930 pm thanksgiving day there was already people inside inline. Everyone who does black friday shopping knows tickets are given out so dont be surprised when something is sold out. just cause the sale starts at 5am deosnt mean the products arent already sold to those in line for hours.

Hmm. How odd that something would be sold out at a store during the holiday season. Are you picking up the sarcasm? This is not an uncommon situation, my friend. How about shopping earlier in the year in 2011 and only posting reports when you were actually ripped off?
