On July 8, 2005 I ordered one pair of their orthontics after watching their infommercial, in hopes their product could solve painful feet issues. When ordering, they tried to convince me to purchase additional products, which I refused to do.

After I insisted on hearing the charges, they quoted me a total of $31.55 that would be charged against my account. I asked for a breakdown, and they said the price was $19.95, shipping was $9.95, and tax (on both) was $1.65. So, I was shocked to discover when I checked my bank account online, they charged me $0.53 more ($32.08)!

Then, When product arrived on July 16, 2005, I discovered they had included a "sample" of some lotion I had never heard of and didn't want, and the orthontics were not soft or cushioned as I had hoped. My feet are very narrow and bony, so I need a lot of cushioning to prevent my feet from sliding around inside my shoes.

I sent their orthontics back--without even opening the package--on August 4, 2005 by Parcel Post, as per their instructions. I waited and waited for them to refund my money, to no avail.

So, I telephoned their customer service dept. on September 1, 2005, asking when I would receive my refund. They told me their "computers are down" so they "can't look up my account info," but then said "as soon as 'Jenny' returns from vacation next week, she will process your return and you should receive your refund within two weeks."

They identified "Jenny" as the person who notifies them of returns so they can process them for refunds. The requested I fax my saved U.S. Postal Service receipts showing the date I returned the product to help Jenny process my return, which I did that same day.

It has now been FIVE weeks since I spoke with Customer Service, and I still have not received my money. I called them a short time ago, and got the same excuse, except this time they told me "Jenny" has the "day off."

I demanded to speak with the manager, and gave her an ultimatum that I would sue their company if I did not get my money back ASAP. She gave me the 800 number for their "corporate office" (800-554-6061) and said she would email my info to them so they could process my return--and I would "get my money back within 7-10 business days."

When I called the "corporate office," I got the SAME "Customer Service" line, and the EXACT same excuse why I haven't received my money!!! Unbelieveable!

I'm surprised the California Attorney General's office has not shut this organization down for such blatant consumer fraud!

Walk Fit, CA Co STILL Hedging!

#2Author of original report

Wed, October 19, 2005

Today, October 19, 2005, I tried calling Walk Fit's "corporate office" again--expecting they had finally received the Customer Service dept. manager's email (see original report, above). Apparently not.

According to the "customer service" agent who answered the call, NO "REFUND REQUEST" had been initiated by the customer service department!!! Even though I had contacted them TWICE over the past two months specifically about getting a refund--AND faxed them the receipts from my August 4th Parcel Post transaction returning their product! With each call, all I received were promises to refund my money at some point in the future ("in two weeks," "within 5-10 business days," etc.).

This time, hopefully, something was finally accomplished--I received a "Refund Request Confirmation Number," and another promise: "You should receive your refund within 30-days."

Gosh, what new "promise" will they think up the NEXT time I call? Well, before I do anything else, I'm going to find out just WHO owns Walk Fit, and I'm going to send them my Rip Off Report! Maybe that will get some action. Whatever I find out I will post on my Rip Off Report.

Before coming here today, I searched the Better Business Bureau's Website to see what they had in their files about Walk Fit. Linked here is the result of that search: http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business/CompanyReportPage_Expository.aspx?CompanyID=13150144&sm=. The report is dated 03-26-01.

According to the BBB, the company began business on 02-07-2001. If you check out the "Complain Closing Statistics" section of their report, you will see the bulk of complaints are very similar to mine. Yet, the BBB has Walk Fit rated with a "BBB" ("A very high rating. A company with this rating would not have a significant number of complaints or other considerations that could pose a problem to consumers.").

If this BBB report is to believed, all those complaints were received between 02-07 and 03-26-2001! It's hard to believe a company receiving that many complaints in such a short period of time could receive a "very high rating."

Bottom line? Don't buy ANYTHING from Walk Fit or any of the other companies affiliated with it.
