Hello,

Me and my fiance were treated in an extremely unprofessional way by the loss prevention employees (TWO), male and female. They were disrespectful and demeaning towards me in particular and then my fiance said he was calling his lawyer and the male with the hat with loss prevention started screaming and briskly following us although the problem was supposedly settled. The item was a damaged product, broken eyeliner worth $4.97. Now I looked up Walmart's policy and it clearly states that Walmart cannot by any means prosecute any product under $25.00 and was also told by the woman in those same exact words. Now again the product was defective as well. They were being completely irrational and I felt threatened, as well as my my fiance. I shop at Walmart at least 2-3 times a week for groceries, household items, etc. This has been the worst experience I have have ever came in contact with in ANY corporation and/or employee. Now to my understanding it is morally wrong even for a multi-billion business to charge 10 times the amount for a defective product! As my fiance and i were leaving we quickly asked two cashiers if they were satisfied with their wages and treatment from the company, and to my prediction, they quickly replied "come on now, of course not, but there is nothing we can do about it!:" I also do not appreciate the way they handled their so-called professional Walmart customer service (LOSS PREVENTION). I did not even steal anything nor my husband but had to sign a paper which i was not even given time to read. So now I am banned??? I am extremely disgusted with this situation and so is my lawyer. I just don't understand the morals of these particular employees. Please help me because my lawyer is furious! He said there was no lawful reason why me nor my fiance should have been treated in this disrespectful manner. One more concern i have, they accused me of stealing something I DID NOT STEAL! What advise do you have for me because my lawyer has quite a bit. I don't want to have to take all of this that far, but I full-heartedly know that i have been wronged by your company!  I am almost done with my schooling to become a RN in college and I am an intelligent person with true moral values and compassion in my heart. PLEASE HELP ME understand this mess! Thank you so much for your time. I am looking forwad to hearing from someone as soon as possible! Thank you again for your time! Have a blessed day!

Let's go over this a little bit so you can see how dumb this sounds to anyone with an I.Q at least as big as their shoe size...

You're telling us that some loss prevention people came up to you and your significant other and started fussing about a stolen item when neither one of you did anything wrong? Ok, why would they do this? Don't you think they would at least have to have probable cause to stop you? You think Walmart would risk a major lawsuit and the loss of a lifetime customer without any evidence of wrongdoing on your part? Come on, lady.

Second, why on Earth would you think that a store wouldn't prosecute shoplifters for stealing things valued less than $25? Using that logic, thousands of people could go into Walmart everyday and take whatever they wanted right in front of the employees and walk out the door with it without paying as long as it's under that amount. Doesn't sound right, does it?

Also, you guys were "forced" to sign a piece of paper allegedly banning you from the store, and not given time to read it? So there was a Walmart employee holding a gun to your head, right? Oh, wait, there wasn't? So, if no crime was commited and you weren't under duress, why would you guys sign a confession?

I'm calling shenanigans on this entire report. It's not even close to believeable.

Robert, I'm thinking this is Chuckies sister. Kinda like the guy who thought that he could just walk into Wallyworld and pick another pair of boots because the ones he bought didn't match.

Wow if this is a fake report I can't wait for the sequel, or perhaps this is the sequel to the Oil Change that wasn't.

If it is a real report then I just want to thank the OP for providing further insight into the "typical" Walmart shopper :).  To that end....

Now I looked up Walmart's policy and it clearly states that Walmart cannot by any means prosecute any product under $25.00 and was also told by the woman in those same exact words.
-
Please oh learned one..tell us where you found out this policy that states anyone stealing less than $25 worth of merchandise can basically have a free-for-all.

I am almost done with my schooling to become a RN in college and I am an intelligent person with true moral values and compassion in my heart.
- Well I will give you compassion.  As for the other two..well let's just say that the jury is still out on that one.

The one thing I would hope the OP can enlighten us on.  That is how she ended up with a damaged $4.97 eyeliner causing her to be stopped by Loss Prevention.  Was it damaged so you figure you could just take it?
