Walmart Michael in "Customer Service" Threatened and humilated by Walmart Customer Service associate Michael Rochester, New York
I purchased cat litter at the Gates walmart on a Friday. I paid cash for it. Saturday I ended up having to get rid of my cat. Sunday I went with my cash receipt to the Walmart in Henrietta to return it. I waited patiently in line with my stepdaughter. Michael at the Customer Service desk didn't even look at me and yelled Next (no one was even behind me).
I explained that I wanted to return this item. He asked me how much it had cost which I thought was odd since it said ten dollars on my receipt. Then he said he needed my license. This was odd, they never asked for my license when I paid cash. Then he told me he couldn't do the return because I had bounced a check. I haven't had a checking account in four years.
I said even though I paid cash and have the receipt you can't return this? He said no. I told him to keep the cat litter and my ten dollars since they obviously need the money more than I do. He looked at me and told me to take my property with me. I said no I don't want it and then he yelled at me to take my property with me and that there are cameras all around.
If I bounced a check or it was a computer screw up, it is not acceptable to talk to customers this way. He was angry when he yelled at me to take my "property". Over ten dollars? Then I called the corporate number to complain, and have not gotten a response from the store.
I shop at the Gates store all the time now and encourage everyone else to as we are the ones keeping them employeed. Why pay for bad service? We deserve better! Gates Walmart has better pricing, better associates, and better management!!

The assistant manager finally called and apologized. I'm sure nothing will happen with the associate, but hopefully the management will not tolerate any future behavior from him. Generally in retail nothing is done with bad associates unless there is a complaint filed.
