i went back to walmart 4-9-03 after being off for a year for my knee surgery. I was hired in as a cashier in Aug 03 I was fired because of two black girls said i was being racial and saying racial words to them, i never got an open door meeting from the manager.

i went through the district manager name is kim weaver and she helped me get my job back since these girls did the same thing to another employee before. i lost two weeks in pay and put me back on my employment statis. i went back after two weeks off and was put in the fitting room to work since those girls were working up front.

i finally went back on the register and worked until 12-13-03, I had a very grouchie customer and she was yelling at me, and i tried to call a manager for help, there was no manager not even a assistant manager. i finally saw a trainie manager and he went there on my lane to help, the lady was swearing and screaming i kepted my cool and walked away.

later that day she came back with her husband and talked to the manager about me, which were lies. she poured out the tears and before she lefted she told me she was going to get me fired. and she did i was at the end of my shift and called into the front office and was told i was being let go. the assisant manager name lori wilson wanted me gone and was sure looking for any reason to make this happen. i feal i was ripped off my job and discrimuated by this company.

Some people fail to realize that there are some people out there who get off on treating people like crap. I dont work in public service unless it is in a setting where I can "educate" the ignorant and rude people. WalMart is a haven for people who feel the need to abuse people to make themselves feel better. I honestly dont know how you worked there as long as you did.

The previous poster fails to realize that fully 1/4 of the population is mentally ill or suffering from a personality disorder, and those people have a captive audience when they choose to abuse a clerk or any other service person.
I have seen abusive customers mistreat and harass clerks and waitstaff and service persons more than I care to think about, and what is worse, is seeing some half-wit, company line toeing, suck up, middle or low end manager, continue the abuse.

File for unemployment and whatever else you can get and let the customer that got you fired, pay your bills while you apply for college and a better life. If your are broke, you should qualify for loads of student aid, and then you can get a job that will keep you safe from the trolls that are found in places other than this website.

I worked in public service long enough to go after a rude customer when they talked to me like a dog once too often. I got fired, and did as I suggest you do. What was truly rewarding was seeing the same customer in the grocery store several weeks later and thanking them for the unemployment and the motivation to not put up with jerks like them ever again.

You do not need to see WalMart's side of the story- it is all lies. Wal-mart has an employee automatic guilty policy:No questions asked , you need not to attend your termination decision. Walmart has no respect, appreciation, or trust in any of its employees. -Just ask the chinese how WalMart pays them 40% of minimum wage and shoves four of them in a living space about the size of your kitchen while sharing 1 bathroom.

It sounds to me like Walmart is a miserable place to work and there are some issues concerning your employment there. First you get fired for allegedly making racist remarks, and then you get fired for a customer-related issue. It is unclear, without knowing Walmart's side of the story, who is at fault here. However, if you have so many issues with the company, why not take any of the myriad of other minimum-wage opportunities with another company, such as Target or KMart. Perhaps you will like one of those better and not have such issues. However, if you do continue to see similar problems while working elsewhere, I think you will know where the problem truly lies.
