Two months ago, I bought a walmart cell phone and service, and sucessfully ported my business phone number of 10- 15 years. Although I originally requested my home zip code region be 05830, it was assigned to my billing address by Straight Talk. I was not able to make or receive calls when in my requested zip code, making the phone purchase unusable there. When I requested assistance from them, it seemed the problem was being fix, and they would change my service accordingly, without a change in my phone number. Unfortunately, my number did get changed and subsequently lost and unretrievable. My service did not change, as I still was not able to use it, even though others with the same plan got 5 bars (I got none). I immediately became unreachable by my clientele, and my practice dwindled to nothing overnight.

Attempting to correct the problem with the Guatamala company has been useless, frustrating, and very dissappointing. They refuse to help, or take any responsibility for their error (of not porting my number when making a change in my region). My account never lapsed, and is paid automatically through their site. All of my advertising, office supplies, and yellow page directory premiums are wasted, and my once strong practce is forced to close, as a direct result of their error and refusal to correct it. I need my phone number back a.s.a.p.! Can anyone help me please?

Same thing happened to me! I called to complain about no signal. The customer service guy asked my zip code so I gave it to him. Next thing I know my phone number was changed. I had my number for 10 years and all the sudden it was gone in about two seconds.

I tried everything to get my old number back but no help. All I got was a $20.00 credit. I am still mad about that. I feel for you, I couldn't imagine owning a business. I am just lucky most of people I want to talk to have facebook so they can get my number.  I thought there was a law saying you can keep your number, obviously not with straighttalk because someone else now has my number. This needs to be changed!
