I was about to make a purchase on Walmart.com on 7/17/2018, and noticed an offer on Walmart.com that said if I applied for a Walmart credit card, and used that card to make my purchase the same day, that they would provide a $25 credit to my new account.  I therefore, made the application, and was approved.  At the end of the approval process, they provided a link to return to walmart.com, to continue shopping. 

The link however was broken, and would not work.  This prevented me from using the new account on the same day that it was opened.  The next morning, I had an Email from Synchrony Bank with a temporary shopping pass link, that would allow me to shop online or in the store.  The Email told me that the new Walmart/Synchrony Bank credit card was automatically added to my walmart.com account as a payment option.  But when I went to walmart.com, and tried to checkout, the new account was not listed as a payment option.  So, I called Synchrony bank using the phone number provided in their Email. 

After speaking to two separate agents, then a supervisor (Beth ID#1261), they said they were sorry that the link was broken, and that the new account could not be used until I received the physical card. (10 days later).  This essentially prevents me from redeeming the $25 statement credit, but they still got their new credit customer! 

Sure smells like a bait and switch to me!!!

I got the same song and dance from them and that was for a $30 credit. They couldn't verify me because my phone company is a cable provider. Believe that crap? It's 2018 and even with a cable landline I'm a dinosaur. They expected me to still have Ma Bell? Please! They should really be investigated for garbage like that.
