I am so sick and tired of the the constant pop ups that say you've won a thousand dollar gift card...just fill out the survey.   I have attempted this over and over again and it always comes down to one thing.....you can NEVER win the card.   I have even purchased when they said to purchase something but never seem to get to the end.  I have spent hours and hours on this just to see.  I would think that all the companies who are supposedly reputable such as Walmart Target, Best Buy, Dell etc would immediately put an end to this nonsense which only leads me to believe that they must be involved somehow.  Now there is somekind of thing where you can't even close the page without closing out the entire program....it doesn't let you exit.   This is getting completely out of control and happens daily no matter what site I might be on.   I have tried to block and can' t seem to even do that.   How is this possible?  I want it to stop and it should be stated up front that you will not reach the end to actually get the card unless you buy all kinds of stupid things and put your name out there over and over and over again.   Can someone tell me how to stop this?  Pleeeeeeeeese.

Oh my gosh, it just happened again on this site!   I can't believe it!  Even the ripoff complaint site wants you to claim a prise for just filling out the survey.   I am absolutely flabbergasted.  I feel like I'm in a never ending night mare.

The second you fill out one offer with information such as your email address it is sold to many others that will spam you into oblivion.  It is too late, you've been spammed.

Easy fix:

If you're seeing pop-ups on EVERY website, then odds are you've been affected by adware.

There's tons of adware out there, so it's not really possible to tell you from all the way over here how you can get rid of it SPECIFICALLY. But if you've managed to snag one of the more incorrigible pieces of adware, there's a very simple fix:

Wipe your hard drive and reinstall your operating system.

You don't sound terribly computer-savvy, so I won't recommend Linux (even though it's MUCH safer) unless you know and trust an individual with the requisite technical gifts to properly install and configure the operating system for you. So, I guess it's back to Windows for you.

And this time around... BE VERY CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU INSTALL!!! Lots of "free" programs on the internet make their cash by bundling in all sorts of nonsense, and few tell you about it. So, since you'll be stuck using Windows, you'll need to be extremely careful reading the fine print on ALL programs you download and install, and you'll need to be especially diligent during the actual install itself. (TIP: Never do an "express install". ALWAYS do "custom install". That's how you can get around installing 98% of this garbage.)

Unless, of course, this entire report was a joke - which, to be honest, I kind of suspect.

So stop filling out the surveys

If you are sick and tired of it..then STOP doing it.

Nothing in life is free.  The only way they can offer you a $1,000 gift card, and stay in business,  is to get the commission for getting you to purchase more than $1,000 in items.  Your not going to get a $1,000 gift card for spending a couple hundred dollars.  You would probably end up having to "purchase" $5,000-$10,000 worth of products or services.

The stores have nothing to do with this and they really can't stop it.  That is why you will always see somewhere in the fine print something to the effect that the store has NO affiliation and does not support or endorse the promotion.

Perhaps you need a better pop-up blocker, or increase the settings on the one you are using now.
