During our purchase, the sales person "Billy Chen" kept pushing and recommeding this style "SHAW/TUFTEX#TS350", he explain that this was the best quality carpet in that price range, due to the overstock inventory, they are offering way below the market price. They asure me is full warranty, and if there is any problem, they will replace it no question ask.

35 Days later. the carpet shows a line stripping like it was "peeling" away, the loops patterns start to disappear. We file the claim right away with the sales person. At first he said all he need is take some fotos and they can replace it, weeks past by, new excuses; he is too busy, he will send co-worker in, months later; we have to wait for the SHAW inspector.

Finally a indepenent inspector came & confirmed is a manufacture defect that cnnt be repair. We thought this should be end of it, well NO, weeks later, the "secretary" called us to come down the showroom for more selection, as soon I got there, they change their mind. They said They wont change the same "quality" carpet because the salesman "BillY" has sold the wrong price., therfore, they can only replace the same" value" carpet, in which is a lesser quality carpet. and if I want to replace into same "quality" prodcut, I have to paid $3-6/yard extra.

Mad as hell, I file a complain with BBB, this time they respond that they are replacing same "value" carpet or offering a $ CASH refund but I refused....OK they are playing the "word" game again..

1) Same "value" as they claim doesnt equal to same "quality" they suppose to replace.

2) No check or cash was ever received from this company, I didnt see a penny.

3) Why do I have to paid $ 500-700 extra for someone else mistake? I didnt ask for upgrade, I just want the same quality!

This is a long & stressful journey, aside from the ACTUAL MONEY PAID , the insults you get from the sales after the sale, no money can compensate that,,,consumer should be more alert, they dont take the claim seriously because this is not a product where you can "pick up" and "returned"...

The carpet purchased in question is defected per carpet manufacturer's(Shaw Industry) inspection. The consumer had 2 choices either keep the carpet (Shaw will refund the price of carpet not labor and pad) or replace with the same carpet at no cost to the consumer. If the consumer pick something more expensive than the original carpet she had to pay the differences. That's a common practices in our industry.

The consumer eventually decided to keep the carpet and Shaw refunded her carpet completely. The whole process takes 4 to 6 weeks from the first date a complain was filed. Everything is settled years ago.
