WAMU - Washingmutual closed my CC account due to inactivity without any email/phone/letter of any kind Internet
Washington Mutual un-fairly closed my Credit Card account due to inactivey - 4 days before I put a charge on it. That's right - Just called before posting this..
I called days before November 8th my first charge to check up and make sure I could still use the card, said I had a $500 on the credit line as I didn't use the card due to inactivity.. So on November 7/8th I put up a charge from a software site and bought Farkle - the game for my pda.. Then On November 10/11th I put up a charge from palmgear - didn't receive full version of software and was going to issue a chargeback if they didn't answer my emails..anyway that's another story.. I just called like I said to make sure that either the lil over 22 dollars I owed (22 and some change) were due on one bill or just the 12.95 the first time around and on my next bill - the 12 dollars or so... and now it said my account was closed - went to representative and they said they Closed it on November 4th.. That's right 4 days before the first charge - and it went fine on the card and both said my account was still active...
Point here - How was I able to use the card 3-4 days later if the account before hand was closed? Why did it show my account as still active before I called and made a purchase - days just before...
There is also one other thing - that 12.95 was suppose to be 11.95 - I tried a trial at softonic and that Dollar was suppose to be a holding dollar..
If ur wondering what the rep. said - "Srry we can't dispute the closed account without a letter..."
Again why was my account closed 4 days earlier without any notification 4 days before I even put a charge on it? Yes the call earlier was to make sure I was still able to use the card and if it said closed that that time, I would of just said okay - cut up the card and gone on my way and waited to buy the software and put it on my Capitalone card..hmmm, however it never did say such...
I had one closed account due to inactivity - that was I believe HSBC and that's why I called about the WAMU card..
So all - in - all - The charges put up on november 8th and eleventh should of been enough to bring the inactivity to activity..
IF anyone is wondering - I used my Capitalone Credit Card without any issues and now I have American Express - no activity - and my most used one Capitalone - Why Capitalone - It was my first CC and the money order got there in days and I was used to paying off the bills with Capitalone, and I even asked the local branch of WAMU if I could send in via money order or pay there and they said yes, so that's when I got over the fear of using the WAMU card and fear of not paying it on-time...
Anywhoo - the moral of this story - don't trust WAMU at all - Close your account as soon as possible as I was afraid of this with WAMU and well I should of listened to the others - I was afraid of this with Capitalone, however no such claims I read about Capitalone seem to be true to me..However WAMU ripoff reports are coming true to me and it did happen to me as well you... -- I took a risk with Capitalone and Won, I took a risk with WAMU and I lost..
Oh! and Nowhere did It say online at the WAMU site that my account was closed after November 4th.. What a ripoff...
