I am fuming mad because I went to my mailbox and received a notice from WAMU which stated that they were raising my APR to 31.99. As this didn't make since because I have missed a payment or gone over the limit since I have had this card in two years. I considered closing this account last year when Providian was bought out by WAMU and my APR went up to 27.89 after being 16.0 before it was bought out. My payment went from a little over $80 or so a month on a 5,000 balance to $170 which it is now. So, in two years my APR has gone up significantly based on other information found on my credit report. Which doesn't make since, because I am not late on any other of my bills. I guess I need a credit score over 800 to have a fixed rate, but I was told that WAMU doesn't have fixed rates. So, I called WAMU and asked why they were raising my interest rate and of course I got someone from India. He said that your interest rate is not adjusting until October. But, what about my question, as to why my rate was increasing, he didn't asnswer. He preceeded to tell me why I should keep this account open. I told him to take this card and shove it.

I only now have one credit card Capital One and I have a fixed rate. I have had this card for over 5 years and just read in the business section that Capital One is going up on their fixed rates. So, I am just waiting util I get the notice about this one going up. If it does, then I will be like some people in this world, pay cash and not rely on a company telling what I can and can not do with your money.
