We purchased tickets from wantickets.com, they cancelled the event but refused to provide a refund.

We bought tickets for Calvin Harris event for our honeymoon in Las Vegas on 9/1/2012.

Wantickets informed us:

"Our dates of 9/1 and 9/2 for Calvin Harris and Afrojack have been switched to better accommodate the artists schedules. Afrojack and Sidney Samson will be performing on Saturday night and Calvin Harris will be performing Sunday night. We apologize for any inconvenience and can easily change your ticket or refund minus the service charge."

Therefore, we have to pay a charge for a service and event we have not received. We have given fiar notice, almost a month in advance, tried several written communications, but still Wantickets.com refuse to provide a refund for tickets we have not received and an event which no longer exists.

As it is entirely at the discretion of Wantickets.com to cancel events, change dates, etc, I advise people not to purchase tickets from them as you could pay money but not get any tickets.

Wantickets.com ripoff

Dear wantickets.com, the point is that you are making us pay 'a non-refundable service charge' when we have not received any service from you as the tickets we bought have been cancelled.

All we have simply asked is that you refund our money, but you refuse and have charged us for selling to tickets to a cancelled event.

Thank you for publicising your 'non-refundable service' charge policy here, as normal consumers expect a website such as wantickets.com to behave with good will and fairness. Now at least everyone reading this knows if they buy tickets at wantickets.com and the event is cancelled for any reason at all, you will not provide a refund but will make them pay 'a non-refundable service charge'.

Other people, similar to us, do not want to be charged by wantickets.com for the 'service' of not providing tickets to events that have been cancelled. That is why I have now begun drawing attention to this sharp practice, in the public domain and will continue to do so until you treat your customers fairly.

Wantickets.com simply serves as a liaison between venue promoters and customers who wish to attend upcoming events at these venues.

Please take note that any changes that are made are strictly based on the venue of the event and/or to accommodate the artist's headliningn that event. Because we are only the liaison, "it is [NOT] entirely at the discretion of Wantickets.com to cancel events, change dates, [and] etc." as you have mentioned.

In this case, the Wynn contacted us to inform our customers that changes had to unfortunately be made in order to accommodate these two artists' schedules.

In no way did our company negate your right in receiving a refund as refunds are always available if an event is cancelled or rescheduled.  Our Service Charge is not included in our refunds, but all of this is stated in the terms of purchase which customers, like you, agree to when placing their orders.

In addition, our Customer Support is always available to answer any questions and provide alternative options if a refund does not meet your needs.  For these two particular event changes we provided the following:

1) You may attend the new event that is taking place on the original date you purchased tickets for.

2) You may repurchase tickets for the event of the original artist you purchased tickets for, and we will refund you in full (including Service Charge) as the promoter of the event has decided to cover these fees for those who choose to repurchase.

3) If you opt to not attend either event, we can refund you minus our nonrefundable Service Charge as we usually do.
