I purchased an extended warranty from WG, in Nov. '02 for a Winnebago RV. I called in Aug. '03 to ask on how to make a claim. I was told that the reinsurer was bankrupt and WG would not honor any claims. They never informed me about the bankruptcy which occurred in June '03, and continued to take payments on the policy.

They offered no refund or continued insurance despite the fact that on June 09th '03 they contracted with a new reinsurer to cover "New" policies. The policies which were purchased prior to June '03 were abandoned to the whims of the courts and the company made no attempt at ethical behaviour, in fact continued in unethical behaviour to try to recover their losses by continuing to charge unknowing consumers who purchased using the time payment plan.

All consumers who purchased under the older plan has worthless contracts according to them, but WG certainly was still taking the payments with no concern that the consumer may not be able to afford more coverage. No Notice, No care, No customer support, No Ethics.

Warranty Gold. Throw your money at them and hope you win the lottery.
