Warrantybynet, Heritage Warranty Mutual Insurance Risk Retention Group, Inc. Defaulted on extended auto warranty Lincoln Nebraska
In June, 2003, I paid $1,772 for a 60 month/100,000 mile extended warranty on my automobile, which I purchased on warrantybynet.com. Recently, when filing a claim under the warranty, I learned that the contractor, Heritage Warranty Mutual Insurance Risk Retention Group (Heritage), was not funding the account from which claims are disbursed. I was eventually told to mail my claim to Heritage at 5747 Perimeter Drive, Suite 200, Dublin OH 43017, and when I investigated that address, found it is the address for National Administrative Services Company (NASCO). My inquiries with NASCO, which does not appear to be a named party to my contract, essentially resulted in the same information: that Heritage was not funding its claims account.
I was subsequently instructed to fax my claim to Warrantybynet customer service at 817-785-6703, but my repeated follow-up calls to Warrantybynet only resulted in reconfirmation that the claims account was not being funded.
At this point, I have contacted the reinsurer for the warranty, American Re, as noted on the Declarations page of the warranty. I sent them an email two days ago, and have not yet received a reply.
