I AM SITTING WITH NO INSURANCE COVERAGE ON MY HOME!!

I have the misfortune of having WASHINGTON MUTUAL BANK as my mortgage holder.

Last year, I choose to change my home owner insurance company in order to save money, which I did. I notified WAMU 4 months in advance who my new company was going to be and the date they needed to send my insurance payment to them. I called 4 times with this information and was told every time, "Oh, yes, we have your info in the computer. It will be taken care of."

Well, my new agent NEVER REC'D THE CHECK. WAMU mailed the payment to the WRONG company! They went and paid my PREVIOUS company which I no longer wanted. I had already signed releases from the old company. I SAT FOR 4 MONTHS, WITH NO COVERAGE ON MY HOME, waiting for them to straighten this problem out. there was no excuse for them to do this, incompentncy... I thought.

This year, unfortunately my new insurance company decided not to renew my coverage due to my living in a hurricane area. I forwarded the 'drop' letter to WAMU via Fax immediately, that was the END OF MARCH. Told them I would inform them of my new company as soon as I found one which was not easy (most companies do not want to cover Florida any longer.)

When I did find a company, I sent them all the information, and my agent sent them a bill as well as me faxing them The same info. My insurance was to run out on June 1st. They had the new info the first week of April! A month in advance.

Well, here it is June 11th and they still have not received the money from WAMU. AGAIN I SIT WITH NO COVERAGE ON MY HOME.
They sent me an email stating they had mailed the check out on May 27th. I called on June 1st when no check was rec'd. They told me to wait 10 days. I did, still no check. Called again, emailed them, and was told, "It must be sitting at the Post Office." When I informed them I worked for the Post Office, they changed the story and said, "Oh, we had two different addresses and it must have gone to the wrong one!"

They then said they would cancel the first check and over night a second check. That was 5 days ago, still no check! My agent says she cannot hold my policy much longer at the rate I was originally given because now we are in the middle of the hurricane season!

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THIS BANK TO RELEASE MY MONEY??? THIS IS A TOTAL RIPOFF COMPANY CONNECTED TO OUR VERY OWN GOVERNMENT. DISPICABLE!!

I see from your list on WASHINGTON MUTUAL you have hundreds of complaints against them. CAN'T SOMETHING BE DONE TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THEY FRAUDULENT PRACTICES???? HELP!!
