WASHINGTON MUTUAL BANK WAMU WILL PULL MONEY FROM YOUR ACCT WITH OUT YOUR AUTHORIZATION Houston texas
I'm disgusted with Washington Mutual Bank Customer Service; a few months ago i lost one of my check cards, and i called WaMu custmer service to cancel that card, well the canceled the wrong acct & who ever found it, went shopping oll over Houston, they finnally declined that card after it got charged over 25 times in that same day, two weeks later i go to deposit my pay check and i find out my acct is overdrawn, well of course i'm thinking there's got to be a mistake, so i get served with a negative balance of over $400.00, so i call again WaMu sustomer service and they tell me they cancelled the wrong card.
Ok, so they make me wait over 3 weeks to refond all of my money & overdraft charges, and after that they send me a letter stating that if I dont fill out some reports they will take the money back, I filled out the stupid reports 3 times in order for them to get it to the right person, and they took their sweet little time to fix my acct.
My acct went overdrawn again, AFTER I requested to cancel overdraft protection service to avoid to pay all those fees, so i started to make small payments to bring my acct back to a possitive balance, with out ANY NOTICE they go & take money from my acct to pay off my negative balance on my other acct, of course they were not willing to wait 4 me to pay what I owed them after they made me wait 4 them to pay me back what they owed me,
i called Customer Service again and all they told me is that if my acct goes negative they have the right to pull money from any other accts I have w them, even if i have pending transactions that might bounce or cause more overdraft charges, i told them that my car payment was pending and it caused me an AFD charge they said that was not their problem, so after 6 YEARS of doing business with them I closed both of my checking accts, my savings acct and I after i pay off my credit card i will close it 2.
I don't have a problem paying what I owe but when it was their time to pay they made me wait til they got ready to pay and not only that they made threats to take that money back if i did not sign some reports, but when it was my time to pay they just went in to my acct and not caring about my pending transactions pulled my money with out consulting me.
It really makes me mad after been a customer for so long they couldn't pick up the phone to ask me what was going on with my acct.

All banks have that provision in their terms and conditions.
You probably should read through your account terms and conditions for whichever bank you have your account with. There is valuable information in there.
It will explain what the right to setoff is as well as several other things you are authorizing the bank to do by having an account with them. You might be surprised.
There will be a section in there that explains what to do to file a fraud claim. I don't know of any bank that doesn't require a signed affidavit. Which is probably why it took three weeks.
But regardless, any time you communicate with any financial institution by telephone, for whatever reason, follow it up with something in writing.
