Washington Mutual Credit Card Predatory APRs!!! Dallas Texas
I have had a Washington Mutual credit card for over two years and have always made payments on time. This summer, my spouse and I sold our home and are in the middle of buying a new home in a different state. We have three kids, both work, and my wife is a full time graduate student. Things were a bit more chaotic this summer than usual, to say the least. I made a payment on June 8th, 2007 and the payment was due June 5th, 2007. THREE DAYS! Wamu jacked up my interest rate from around 14% to 30.99%!!! Does the other 30 on time payments count for anything?
I am amazed that this is even legal. Of course, I immediately cancelled my card. However, I talked with a customer service rep and the call center manager and not only were they lacking in their cognitive abilities, but they did NOTHING to rectify the situation. How can a bank stay in business when they treat their customers so shabbily?
