Washington Mutual Credit Cards Credit Card Disclosure Arlington Texas
I applied for a Washington Mutual Credit card in Keizer OR. last April. I told the young woman I wanted a different card because the default rate on a card I had was about 30%. She assured me that WA MU was lower. She could only give me a generic Statement of conditions but assured me a fuller disclosure would accompany my acceptance.
Some time later I received a card and disclosure information with a welcome to Wa Mu. The default rate was the same or higher than my old card. I cut the card in half and informed them I was no longer interested. I never used the card.
Now, six months or so later, I still get inquiries wondering why I'm not using my WaMu acct. and inviting me to transfer balances or take a cash advance.
I regard the default rates of 30% or more (for being one day late) as usury and highly immoral. My finnancial advisor calls it a license to steal money. It may be legal but is highly immoral.
I wish Washington Mutual would recognize the fact that I will not carry or use their card and wish my account closed.
