My wife had an existing VISA with Reader's Rewards because she belonged to a book club. The account started with Providian and was then sold to Washingto Mutual Bank. Her credit card was paid in full by my NEW credit card and WAMU accepted the check which made a zero balance.

Two weeks after the balance was ZERO the bank added a late fee and overlimit fee to an account that had a ZERO BALANCE. When a company bills you and you pay the billed amount does that not make "0" ?

If anyone gets a Credit Card offer from Reader's Rewards, Providian or Washington Mutual , be prepared to get RIPPED OFF even when you pay the entire balance IN FULL. I would advise that you use these offers from these banks to start your fires this winter !!!
